Start here & go until you die, he said.
What's so complicated about that?
I'd like to think that things are getting better,
he said, but my eyes are getting worse, so maybe I miss a lot.
spent a lot of time when she was younger practicing
walking around completely in the dark, so she figures
she's probably pretty well prepared for adulthood
She turned to me & whispered, don't you just love it when you get so excited you forget to breathe? & the thought of her smiling eyes still makes me laugh.
If I love you with all my heart, he said, what will you give me?
& then he stopped & said I didn't have to answer that because
he was going to do it anyway.
How many people can you love before it's too much?
she said & I said I didn't think there was any real limit
as long as you didn't care if they loved you back.
Anyone can slay a dragon, he told me, but
try waking up every morning & loving
the world all over again.
That's what takes a real hero.
I'm sick of not having the courage to be an absolute nobody.

its time love, its time

She told me it was time to be brave.
She told me it was time to spread the wings I was given and fly.

flying time

carefully walking very slow so life does not pass her by

its here

dreaming of change
when all she really has to do
is open her eyes

like a bird

trying to fall because it seems like the only way not to fall face first

its to late for help

cautiously drowing with two hands
so people don't think she is waving.

in disguise

being someone else at all times because she does not think she is good enough to be herself

to belong

she just wants to be apart of something...anything

as a bird

her once free spirit, now dying to escape

through the eyes on the innocent

wanting to go back to believing in everything and knowing nothing
settling for a meaningless existence
settling for a meaningless existence

holding on

holding on to grudges for dear life

death is not an option

living life and hating ever minute of it...

making do

learning to like what she has

Tied together by stuff too difficult to explain to someone new

if you only knew

Impossible yoga position but she likes to have goals that no one else can imagine,
so they'll shut up about how they understand exactly what she's going through

someday soon

She smiles sweetly
to hide her fear
to hide the pain
that is always near

Her stomach aches
from being sad
She wants to stop
feeling so bad

She wishes the world
were a happier place
that way she could put
a smile on her face

Will no one notice
the pain that's inside
Can no one see
how much she's cried

wanting to feel free
wanting to be happy
tired of pretending
there is no misery

What will it take
for people to know
that the smile she shows
is actually fake?

She has the world fooled
thinking she's pleased
with how her life's going
Can they be so naive

But someday soon
someone will see
and notice that there
is no bright moon

to light up her misery
to fade away pain
and make her really smile
once again.

sister dear

Dark happiness eclipses bright sorrow,
casting the shadows of pain upon me;
Sharp splinters that penetrate the marrow:
my wounds lay hidden but yours I can see.

Embodiments of your inner anguish,
gateways forced open to set your pain free
these unseen demons you cannot banish,
so you fight with a knife 'til you can see.
Bright sorrow flares behind its dark cover:
it's the blinding white truth from which we hide;
for truth discerned is pain to discover -
so close your eyes and keep it all inside.

I long to hug you and to make you hearthat
your pain is also mine, Sister Dear.
